We send 2 x 150g bags (300g in total) of UK roasted coffee to our subscribers. We also tell the stories of the roasters on our website.
We deliver during the 1st week of each month. In order to receive your coffee next month, you need to sign up by the 27th of this month.
Anywhere within the UK. We use Royal Mail 1st class post since we know you are waiting anxiously. Not in the UK? Email us at info@blankboxcoffee.com to see if we can sort something out for you.
A BlankBox is really slim, like 25mm slim, and designed to go through the vast majority of mailboxes.
Simple. You tell us if and how you want your coffee ground. You sign up. You set up a Direct Debit using GoCardless and then wait until the 1st week of next month when a Blankbox will drop through your mailbox.
Whole beans. Grinding your own beans right before you brew, makes a real difference to the taste and aroma. If a grinder is the only thing standing between you and amazing coffee though, we are happy to help out. Just tell us how you brew your coffee and we'll grind your order accordingly.
Taking payments by card is much more expensive than by Direct Debit so we can keep the prices of our BlankBox subscription lower. Also, cards get lost, they expire, eaten by the dog, used to scrape the ice of your windscreen - all things that requires admin and distracts us from searching for gorgeous new coffees. All payments are handled by GoCardless. They are safe and you are protected through the Direct Debit Guarantee.
We thought of that. If you want to pause your next delivery, simply do so from your account.
You are not tied into any long term commitment. Simply cancel via your account before (or on) the 27th of this month. If you cancel after the 27th, we'll send you the final box as your payment would have already been processed.
Gideon. And the three über-creatives Matteo, Metod and Vanya, responsible for transforming his Willy Wonka Coffee ideas into reality.
Inside each BlankBox you'll find two bags. Each bag has been stamped with either a blue or a red logo. You'll use this logo on our website to find out more about the coffee inside that specific bag. Online, you'll find an interview with each roaster and the tasting notes for that particular coffee. Quite clever, we know.
The reason for this is simple. It gives you the option to do a blind tasting of the excellent coffees we'll be sending you each month. If we labelled the bags with information, or even used different coloured bags, you'd be influenced by any pre conceived thoughts or feelings you might have about a region, a varietal, the tasting notes or the design of the bags. For example, if we described one coffee as "hazelnut and chocolaty" and the other as "fresh cut hay with a hint of blueberries" your opinion on each will be influenced by that description before you even tasted it.
